Why Artists Make Giclee

For photographers and digital artists the main benefit is having a method of producing multiple originals to last for several generations. For traditional artists there are varied reasons as to why they make giclees.

For personal reasons some artists prefer to not sell their original work, but still need some financial compensation for their investment in producing art. For other artists, whose original pieces are out of the price range of the majority of the market, making a giclee of their work allows them a means of art production that is more affordable for the general public.
